~     The Reading of Today   September 14     ~

Today's reading was from the first letter of St. Paul to the Conrinthians, (Chapter 13)

Love
"Love is patient, love is kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude.
Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends. "

Let us pray for more LOVE in the world, so that peace and understanding will prevail in the WORLD.

~     Memorial Ceremony in Boston Gardens     ~

Our son Sany and his family attended the Memorial Ceremony for 911 in Boson Gardens. Every member of the victims families was given an envelop that contains seeds of the flower "Forget-Me-Not".
Today, we received by mail our envelop that was sent to us by Sany. It came with a poem that I include below:

FORGET-ME-NOTS HAVE FIVE PETALS

The FIRST is for events that will be
forever etched in our memory.

The SECOND is for all our families,
who we will keep in our prayers.

The THIRD is for Our children, who remind
us the future is filled with hope.

The FOURTH honors our Community
with gratitude for their kindness,
generosity and selfless giving.

The FIFTH we dedicate to our country,
united in faith, freedom and peace.

The CENTER is a tender reminder that
our lost loved ones will forever
remain in our hearts.

~     A card that touched my heart     ~

Yesterday I received by post-mail a card that touched my heart. It came from my new friend, Gina Burke.
I would like to share it with you:

"On this anniversary of your loved one's death, may you remember...
the best experiences you shared,
the most meaning words that were spoken,
the happiest moments you had together,
and the comfort which has given you courage to go on.”
Peace.
Gina

Thank you Gina for your friendship.

~     A Poem of Compassion     ~

With the card, Gina enclosed a poem written by Helen Ciolino and meant for her niece.

"I'll Be Close By "

"When I am gone I shall not die;
For I will always be close by;
I'll never leave your side at all,
But listen -for your beck and call.

To dry your tears, you'll always find
Me near, to soothe your troubled mind.
I’ll never leave you, this I vow,
But be as close as I am now.

And when alone you'll understand,
You'll even feel me touch your hand;
While I caress your smiling face,
And hold you in a fond embrace.

We'll laugh and talk - just I and you,
And do the things we used to do.
We'll stroll along some shady lane,
And live the fun we've had - again.

And when at night your prayers are said,
I'll gently tuck you into bed,
Then softly kiss you a good night,
And tell you things will be all right.

And when the morning comes anew,
I’ll still be waiting up for you.
When I am gone, I shall not die,
For I will always be close by."

This note was found on April 19, 1989 in Helen Ciolino's dresser drawer. I, her niece, found it and I truly feel it was meant for me. I lost a mother (my aunt) and she left these words to ease my pain. I loved this gentle woman as I know she loved me!

~     Flag of Honor     ~

While in Sacramento, I learned about the Flag of Honor that Voices of September 11 have on their website. It was created by John Michelotti
He has printed on the USA flag 2996 names representing all those who died on that horrible day. You can see it and read about it by clicking on the Links here.
Your name is on the second row of names.
