The Psalm of today, Wednesday August 18, was Psalm 23: "The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He restores my soul; Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; |

Today is your Birthday. I recall your first word when I used to phone you on August 25 to wish you Happy Birthday, you used to answer me "Yello". Now, Ronald answers the same way. Every time I phone him, he answers with "Yello". He reminds me a lot of you. When ever I take him to school, he asks me questions about you. We will have a morning Mass in your memory at Our Lady of Lourdes church. I am the Lector for this week at the early daily mass. I received this Birthday Memory from Link4U Card The poem just pulled the words from my head. We miss you very much. (August 25, 2004) |

Yesterday was one of those difficult days. It was the third year we celebrate your Birthday without you. We had a special mass for you. The celebrant was father Joey Buencamino. He prayed for you. All the parishioners present in the church joined us in praying for you. May the Lord rest your soul in PEACE. (August 26, 2004) |

The Homily of today was about St. Augustine of Hippo. Our priest, father Tim Cahalane gave an interesting biography about St. Augustine. He finished the mass with this prayer: "My past I leave in your mercy, O God. My Present life I give to your love. My future life I place in your providence". (August 28, 2004) |
![]() (Click for a bigger picture) The Principal of Our Lady of Lourdes School, Mrs. Patty Hager, informed us that the Mass at 9:00 AM of today will be in memory of the victims of 9-11-2001. A special petition will be read in your memory by the students of the school. So we attended the 9:00 AM mass in place of the 6:30 AM mass. The celebrant was Monsignor Peter Muran. The organizer was Mrs. Monica Roberts, the Student Council Moderator. A peace pledge was prepared and read by the students. (you can read it here). The mass was beautiful. It touched my heart. Thank you father Peter. Thank you Patty. Thank you Monica. Thank you all the teachers and students of Our Lady of Lourdes School. (September 10, 2004) |

In two hours more it will be 1096 days (three years) since you left this world to the other eternal life. How time passes by fast! Today, we will celebrate Mass in your memory. We will pray for you and for all those who passed away on that horrible day. We will pray for all the special friends who have been of great help to us since this tragedy befell upon our home. As a matter of fact I live to pray. It is my prayers that keep your memory alive in me. I go to church daily to be near you, to talk to you, to touch you and to keep you alive in me. Without God I could not have made it to here. It is going to be a long and dreadful day. But with God's love and help I hope that it will go by fast. (September 11, 2004) |

This is a quote from what the mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, read on September 11 2004 Memorial ceremony: "It has been said that a child who loses a parent is an orphan. A man who loses his wife is a widower. A woman who loses her husband is a widow. There is no name for a parent who loses a child, for there are no words to describe this pain." (September 11, 2004) |

The rules for accepting donors of blood are getting more strict. Only 49 persons were accepted to donate blood in your memory, yesterday. Your Mom was rejected because her blood had low hemoglobin. Randy, your brother-in-law, was rejected because he had high blood pressure. Carl, your cousin, was rejected he had a bit of fever. They are afraid of the West Nile virus. Sister Audrey was rejected because she visited Hungary. But the UCLA staff were very happy with the show up and the result. They are looking forward for the drive of 2005. (September 13, 2004) |
