I received an e-mail message from a friend, Colleen Doyle. She tells me of a dream that she had of you: "I also wanted to tell you that I had a dream about Waleed last night! I know it is very strange because I never knew him here on earth. But my dream was so vivid!! I woke up right after the dream and I've been thinking about it all day. He was very happy and joking around, making everyone laugh, and even playing practical jokes on people. For instance, there was a man in front of me trying to talk with me and impress me. Waleed was behind the man and kept taking a rubber chicken and sticking it up so that the head of the chicken kept popping up behind the man's head.... the man kept on talking since he didn't know Waleed was behind him goofing off. I tried really hard not to laugh but then I couldn't help it. I remember thinking he is so sweet and loving. I woke up and thought it was so strange that Waleed would visit me in my dream. But it made me so happy! I just thought you would want to know. I have a feeling that wherever he is, he is the life of the party and making everyone laugh. I know that he would want you to laugh again too." Congratulations Colleen on your wedding. May the Lord bless you and Brion and bestow on you a happy life. (June, 14, 2003) |

Mr. Mark Cox, the owner of the school, surprised us by awarding you the "Honorary 1st. degree of Black Belt" and the membership of "American Tang Soo Do". At the ceremony, a movie in pictures of you was shown. It was accompanied by beautiful music. The people clapped and applauded. It felt marvelous. Thank you "America's Best Chatsworth Karate" (June, 15, 2003) |

This week I received a message from a new friend. I am including it in my journal I'm a computer consultant who had to work an extra over-night shift, and I don't know how but through web search for some of my interests I found myself ending up at Waleed's website. It is such a strange coincidence to start knowing a person like Waleed after he has crossed to the other side of life. No one can ever imagine that he will get to know a person who has passed away, and yet feel that he relates to him in a way or feel the bond of friendship exists with a total stranger that he never has met. Even though it’s coming late, but my deep condolences for your family loss, it is such a rare and unique even to find people who are like Waleed in this life. I can tell that I formed a clear impression about Waleed’s life and personality through the family’s loving words and pictures. The sun has raised it’s bright golden lines of light in the sky and yet I haven’t finish reading the Journal. Still I’m shocked to find myself have reached your website and feel myself have touched part of your life. I’ve experienced death before, and I know how hard it is… but I also know that not all people who pass away, really leave for good! Some people never leave us forever. Know that the love that you, and the family has given to Waleed has definitely made him the person he was, and know that you have offered him things not many can offer to their loved ones anymore; love, and honesty, which both leads to the purity & creativity of the soul. You’ve said that Waleed have touched so many friends’ lives and I say: "he still does!" If you’re curious how some one can know so much about a perfect stranger … then just know that some people are gifted with a deep look that can reach beyond the appearance, and know that an honest word, full of love is so much capable of drawing and translating the clear picture of anything, just like the way your words have told the story of Waleed! Life is really strange. Wafa (June, 22, 2003) |

We received a letter form the Harvard Business School. I am posting it below: "I am happy to report that there have been several generous gifts pledged to the Fund bringing the total up to about $150,000.00! There is currently about $50,000.00 paid to the fund, but this doesn't take into account any money received in the month of June, so I expect that number to go up a fair amount once the fiscal year is closed. The Class Campaign (Ten Years Reunion for the class of 1993) ended June 30th, but many of the gifts are still being entered so we'll need to wait a week or two to get the final gift amounts. The University will activate the fund when it reaches $100,000.00 in outright gifts, but I am hopeful that we will reach that level by the Fall so that we can award the fellowship this upcoming year. I am waiting to receive from our operations group the names and addresses of the new donors to Waleed's fund and will send it along when it is completed. I will also send you an update of the money in the fund which should be available toward the end of the month. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions. Regards," Kerry (July, 08, 2003) Your friends' generosity shows how big is their love to you. We thank each and everyone of them and pray that the Lord guard them and their families safely. I will frame it and add it to your memorabilia in your special room. I have a feeling that one day they will send us some more items from you. Click to see the four plastic cards (July, 10, 2003) |

This year, your brother and sister invited us to join them on their trip to the Canadian Rockies. It took your mom and I some time to decide on going. But, at the end we decided to travel with them. You were with me all the time. Every where we went, I reflected on your comments about the nice scenery, a beautiful lake, a serene mountain, a delightful river. I would imagine you with your zoom lens taking pictures of every beautiful flower or bird or animal that passes by. Whenever we took a picture of the whole family there was something missing. The number of the persons has changed. Now, it is twelve in place of thirteen. When ever we entered a restaurant to eat, I had the same feeling, someone is missing. I wonder whether you have been to Banff National Park? It is quite a place to reminisce at! (August, 04, 2003) |
