Eulogy
(By Dr. Habib Zoghbi)
Waleed Iskandar, who passed away in the tragedy of American Airlines flight 11,
in New York, was a victim of a cowardly act of part of humanity, who are confused as to what
the appropriate means are to attain their objectives.
By assasinating Walid, they also assasinate, without pity, progress, science and honesty.
Walid brilliantly succeeded among the best of this world,
first by earning, with the highest
distinction, an MBA from Harvard, the university where leaders such as John F. Kennedy
and President George W. Bush graduated from.
Second, by becoming the manager in a
highly professional institution, affiliated to Harvard, which is a strategic consultant
to governments around the world.
The only credible support that Lebanon still enjoys vis-a-vis the world is its highly
competent youth, such as Waleed, who shine abroad. The loss of such pillars inflicts a deep wound.
Goodbye, dear colleague. May God not let you see from where you are, your heartbroken
friends and family in despair.
We shall try not to let your disappearance reduce our determination for a better world.
